This year we decided to take two days to go throught the harvesting process.
Wednesday we'll get the 90 pound destemmer and other equipment out of the wine shed to sanitize for use the next morning. Early Evening we'll harvest the grapes and store in the kitchen over night.
Thursday early morning, we'll drop the grapes into the destemmer, the stems go one direction into a bucket and the grapes fall directly into a fermenting bucket. Then, clean the equipment and put back in the wine shed.
Ha! sounds easy, but takes time and energy.
And you wondered what I do when I don't have a Watercolor Brush in my hand! Busy Busy!!!
